Teaching Methods

Your decision to learn to dance at an Arthur Murray Studio will prove to be one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences of your lifetime. The Arthur Murray Organization’s 100 plus years of teaching experience assures you of the finest dance instruction available today. Through the three-way system of instruction, (private, group and practice sessions) you will become a good social dancer in the shortest time possible.

Personal Lessons

Because your private lessons are a unique and personalized experience, we like to refer to them as Personal Lessons. During your one-on-one personal lessons you will receive personalized instruction that will help you achieve your goals in dancing. Our team of teachers will spend all the time necessary to improve your technique, styling, and dancing! At the end of each lesson we will electronically file the content of your lesson, and email that content directly to you, so you can keep a record of all of your accomplishments on our dance floor. At no time are you at the mercy of another student’s ability to learn or the dances they enjoy. You learn at your own pace, and you will master the dances YOU wish to learn!

Group Classes

Class instruction supplements private lessons and enhances and accelerates the learning process.
Group lessons are an important addition to your ballroom dance program. At Arthur Murray Clearwater we offer complimentary Group Classes for all of our students that are on private lesson programs. These group classes offer new patterns, tips on lead & follow, improved balance and poise, and much more. Offered for different dances and at different levels, you will always be working on material that is appropriate for you. Practice Parties

If dance lessons were like driver’s ed., then personal lessons are like driving with your instructor in a parking lot, and parties are like going for a spin on the highway. Arthur Murray Clearwater has a professional DJ sound system, Disco lighting, and often times live entertainment on our stage for your dancing pleasure. The Craft Parlor’s beer & wine bar is open, making our parties the perfect night on the town. Arthur Murray Clearwater hosts dance parties that are open to the public every Friday night at 8:30 p.m. On the Final Friday of every month Arthur Murray Clearwater features live entertainment, such as Paul Dowers, The Jazz Phools, After Five, and Leon Majcen & Company from Sirius XM’s The Coffeehouse. Check our Facebook event page for weekly themes such as Latin Night, Karaoke, and Dancing Under the Stars on our outdoor patio.

Medal Ball

The Medal Ball is an annual event celebrating the accomplishments of the year prior, with a special emphasis on the students who have graduated from one level of their dance program to the next. The evening is a true celebration of dance, including demonstrations, freestyle heats, and solo presentations. Medal Ball culminates with a formal dinner, champagne, and dancing. It is an evening not to be missed.

Dance Sport

Dance-o-Rama

A Dance Sport Competition is an exciting two or three day event, that brings students together from many Arthur Murray Studios, to compete at their level, in dances of their choice. This requires specialized dance training to polish and perfect choreography, technique and styling. The weekend is full of activities such as dance competitions, cocktail parties, dinner dances and exciting professional shows.

Glass Slipper Showcase

The Glass Slipper Gala is Arthur Murray Clearwater’s signature event. A fairy tale affair with a Cinderella theme, the Glass Slipper Gala is an evening of glitz, glamour, and lots of great dancing. Students participate in freestyle heats, solo presentations, Jack & Jill dance-offs, and multi-dance events. One of our world-class adjudicators is flown in to offer development feedback to each and every dancer via critique sheets and a one-on-one personal coaching the following day. After the competition portion of our Gala concludes, participants enjoy a formal dinner, professional showcase, and general dancing – all before the clock strikes midnight.
